Congratulations to our BBIS students for their exceptional performanes at this year's Middle School ISMTF Math Competition in Frankfurt. Out of 180 international secondary students aged 14 and under, they demonstrated their mathematics skills admirably.
Each year, the International Schools Mathematics Teachers Foundation (ISMTF) hosts a rigorous mathematics competition that draws participants from around the globe. This competition features both individual and team challenges, putting students' mathematical acumen to the test. In the individual challenge, students tackled a wide array of middle school mathematics topics, demanding not only knowledge but also keen critical thinking, adept time management, and effective problem-solving skills. During the team round, our students successfully navigated interactive mathematics scavanger hunt on the campus of the Frankfurt International School.
We invite you to take a moment to read the testimonials from some of our participating students, sharing their experiences at the competition.
"The mathematics competition was extremely fun. During the trip we were able to learn about more maths and do fun interactive activities, such as the Sunday chase."
"I think this was the best trip I had ever taken with my school. It was amazing, fun and exceptionally educational. We had 7 rounds of maths sheets which were so challenging to me that I practised using all my knowledge really well. Most of all, I had fun working together with my team to find all the solutions to the questions - some may have been wrong and some weren’t completed but I loved challenging myself with all the brain racking questions."
"I had an excellent time at the ISMTF competition, where I got to know amazing people and worked with two amazing partners to solve maths problems. We had a great time travelling through the Olympiad together. It wasn't simply the competition that was memorable; it was also the friendships that were forged and the joy of learning together. In perspective, it was the highpoint of my maths adventure, serving as a reminder of the importance of teamwork and the enjoyment that can be found in learning new things."
