We are delighted to announce a generous donation from the family of Eve Büchner and Dr. Joachim Hertel, along with QuantumReality GmbH, through the BBIS Foundation. This contribution has further strengthened our STEM offerings and initiatives.
With the recent reopening of House 2, our students and staff now benefit from state-of-the-art learning spaces, including an enhanced Design Technology department and a fully equipped Makerspace. These innovative environments foster creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
The donation has enabled our school to acquire a range of STEM equipment, including 3D printers, a 3D scanner, a vinyl cutter, sewing machines, Dash robots, Kosmos Easy Elektro Start kits, Lego Spike Kits, Lego Mindstorms EV3 sets, a ceramic 3D printer, a heat press, and button makers. This new technology will empower students to explore design, technology, and robotics in exciting new ways.
In addition, with the donation we were also able to support various professional development opportunities for the BBIS community, focusing on areas such as AI, Google Workspace, drone building and flying, as well as participation in the F1 in Schools competition.
These new resources have already begun to transform our students' learning experiences. From designing their own 3D models to programming Dash robots, students are developing valuable skills in innovation, problem-solving, and collaboration. In our new learning spaces, they are working on exciting projects that blend creativity with innovative technology, sparking curiosity and encouraging exploration across various disciplines.
Looking ahead, this donation will allow us to expand our STEM curriculum further, offering even more hands-on opportunities. We are excited about the future and the opportunities this presents for both our students and the wider community.
As a parent and entrepreneur, I am committed to fostering a legacy of enriched education. I take great pride in supporting our school’s STEM initiatives through this donation, which aims to inspire and empower the next generation of innovators.Eve Büchner, Director BBIS Foundation
