Campus Planning Competition: Winning Design Unveiled & Exhibition Open

BBIS is looking ahead to the future. To explore ideas for the next phase of our growing campus, we launched an urban planning ideas competition. The goal was to gather creative proposals to help shape a sustainable and innovative learning environment for 1,200–1,500 students and 400–500 staff members in the long term.

On 29 January 2025, an expert jury, led by Prof. Kirsten Schemel, awarded first place to Berlin-based rundzwei Architekten BDA. Their visionary design stood out among seven impressive entries.

The competition focused on making the most of our unique location and history, addressing challenges such as heritage conservation, traffic flow, and sustainability. The winning ideas will help shape a master plan for campus development, ensuring BBIS continues to be a thriving place to learn and grow.

If you would like to see the designs, all seven entries are on display at Kleinmachnow Town Hall (Gallery on the 1st floor) from 19 February to 3 March 2025 (Adolf-Grimme-Ring 10, 14532 Kleinmachnow).
