My role at BBIS:
Currently, I am one of our IB MYP Design (and Art) teachers.
When did you join BBIS?
I joined BBIS in 2019, as one of our Early Education teachers. I taught one year with our Yellow Group, one year with our Red Group, and since the school year 2021/22 with Grades 6-9 in Design and Art.
What is your background?
I am a Canadian born Italian. I have been an international educator for 10 years. I have a Masters in Curriculum and Instructional Design, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Education, a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy, and hold many other additional qualifications relating to technology, concept-based curriculum, inquiry, and child development. I started my international teaching journey at a Canadian school in Beijing. I have taught in the south of Germany (Erlangen), in Malta, and now I'm here in Brandenburg!
What inspires you in your professional role?
I am very inspired by the people and places around me. I thrive off of the unknown and through inquiry in both my personal and professional life. I am inspired by those who take risks, who have many questions, and a positive attitude. I absolutely love not knowing things, and getting a chance to try and figure something out or problem solve.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about animals and the arts. I am vegan and have two adopted dogs. I love being creative, playing games, building and making things, and I really love to make a mess (...not so much the cleaning afterwards).
What makes BBIS special?
BBIS has some of the most incredible teaching staff. I feel lucky to have worked and get to work with some of the most inspiring people. There is a wonderful community found within the families and staff that are part of BBIS. Our beautiful location by the forest and lake is a bonus too!
